eBay fees in 2026

Every fee an eBay seller can pay in the US, and whether a Store lowers your bill.

The fees in one place

  • Final value fee. A share of the whole sale total: item, shipping you charge and sales tax. For most categories it is 13.6% up to $7,500.00 and 2.35% above. See the rates by category.
  • Per-order fee. $0.40 per order, or $0.30 when the sale total is $10.00 or less.
  • Insertion fee. The first 250 listings each month are free, then $0.35 per listing. Stores get more free listings.
  • International fee. 1.65% of the sale when the buyer is abroad, unless you use eBay International Shipping.
  • Currency conversion. 3.25% for US-registered sellers when eBay converts currency.
  • Seller level surcharges. Below Standard adds 6% to the final value fee the next month, and 7% after four months in a row. A very high “item not as described” rate adds 5% in that category, and 6% after four months. If both apply, only the Below Standard surcharge is charged.
  • Promoted Listings. An ad fee you choose, charged on the full sale total, including shipping and tax.
  • Dispute fee. $20.00 each time a dispute is decided against you.

Is an eBay Store worth it?

A Store subscription costs money every month, so it only pays off if the lower fee rate saves more than the subscription costs. Subscriptions are billed monthly. Basic is $21.95 a month on a yearly plan or $27.95 on a monthly plan; Premium is $59.95 or $74.95; Anchor is $299.95 or $349.95; Starter is $4.95 or $7.95. Starter pays the same final value fee rates as no Store.

A Basic Store also gives 1,000 fixed-price listings a month with no insertion fee, against 250 without a Store. That helps if you list a lot, and it is not counted in the table below.

Break-even is the subscription divided by the rate you save, using the rate on each item’s first price band. It is an estimate: it ignores the listing allowance and eBay’s Store tools, and it assumes every item stays under the band. Above that band both rates fall to 2.35%.

For most categories a Basic Store saves 0.9 points, so you need about $2,439.00 in sales a month. In electronics the saving is 4.25 points, so about $517.00 is enough. Books, movies and music get no rate discount at all.
